IAB Rendering - Ssangyong X100 (Ford EcoSport rival)
B-Segment crossover from the Mahindra-owned company comes next year to Europe.
The Ssangyong XIV Adventure and XIV Air concepts will debut at the Paris Motor Show on Thursday as forerunners to the company's next product, an entry-level SUV codenamed Ssangyong X100, that will launch globally next year.
The production-spec Ssangyong X100's patent sketches were published on Chinese websites last week. The car's production-spec fitments like the number plate holders, indicators, door handles, muffler, wipers and the fuel lid were verifications that this was indeed the final product.
Now IAB's own digital interpreter Shoeb R Kalania has fast-forwarded the car to a showroom-ready state.
Ssangyong has not released specifications but the dimensions of the concept should remain valid for the production car. It measures 4,195 mm in length and has a wheelbase of 2,600 mm.
The crossover will be powered by a newly developed 1.6-liter engine, that would reportedly be matched to 6-speed manual and automatic transmissions, complying with Euro 6 emission standards.
The Mahindra-owned Korean utility major has announced the X100 under its Promise 2016 plan which aims to double sales in 3 years.
