Guangzhou Live - Suzuki Alivio (Chinese Maruti Ciaz)
Powered by an enhanced 1.6-litre four-cylinder G-INNOTEC petrol engine.
The Suzuki Alivio (Maruti Ciaz in India) is on display at the ongoing Guangzhou Auto Show 2014. The new sedan will go on sale in the country shortly.
While looking identical to the India-spec Ciaz for the most part, the Alivio's design is tuned to the liking of the Chinese audience with additional features like abundant chrome detailing on the front fascia, larger alloy wheels and a sunroof. The two sedans also share their interior design. The vehicle measures 4,545 mm in length, 1,730mm in width and 1,475 mm in height.
While its Indian counterpart is powered by a 1.4-litre four-cylinder petrol and a 1.3-litre four-cylinder diesel engine with a standard 5-speed manual gearbox and optional 4AT (petrol), the Chinese Alivio comes with a 1.6-litre four-cylinder G-INNOTEC petrol engine whose specifications are still under wraps.
The engine is mated either to a 5-speed manual or a newly developed lightweight and compact 6-speed automatic transmission which is claimed to offer enhanced fuel efficiency.
The bookings for the sedan is set to commence on November 24th with deliveries expected to take place in December.
