India-made Suzuki Alto 800, K10 with dual airbags, ABS launched - Algeria

Engines are identical to the Indian model.

Elsecom Automobiles, official dealer of Suzuki cars in Algeria, presented three new cars at the ongoing Algerian Auto Show – Alto 800, Alto K10, and the Celerio. Shipped from Maruti Suzuki's Manesar plant in Haryana, the Algerian-spec cars get additional safety features and different interiors.

The exteriors of the cars show no differences, but there are changes to the safety equipment, and interior in case of the Alto 800.

The Alto 800 is priced at 880,000 Algerian Dinars (INR 5,70,063), the Alto K10 at 980,000 AD (INR 6,34,843), and the Celerio at 1.141 million AD (INR 7,39,139).

The Algerian-spec Alto 800 and K10 get dual airbags and ABS, while the Indian models only get a driver-side airbag as an option. ABS is not offered in any of the Alto variants in India.

While the exterior designs are similar to the Indian versions, the Algerian Alto 800 gets interior upgrades carried over from that of the new K10, including the dashboard with an all-black colour theme. To differentiate, the K10 gets the same interior with a dual-tone beige and black colour scheme. The Algerian K10 gets an AUX-enabled inbuilt audio system as Indian-versions do. The Celerio, on the other hand, is similar to the one sold in India.

The Alto 800 borrows its interior from the new K10, but gets an all black layout.

However, the engines for the left-hand-spec Algerian cars are akin to their Indian versions. The Alto 800 comes with a 796 cc petrol unit, producing 48 hp and 69 Nm of torque. The K10 and the Celerio are powered by a bigger 1.0-liter K-Series petrol engine producing 68 PS and 90 Nm of torque.

Both engines are 3-cylinder units and are paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The Celerio alone gets an automated manual transmission (AMT) option.
