Japan - Suzuki Alto Lapin 'Chocolat' X variant announced

Suzuki have announced a new 'X' variant on the Alto Lapin Chocolat. The Alto Lapin Chocolat was announced in June 2013, and was billed as a posher version of the Alto Lapin. The Alto Lapin, now in its second generation, is a kei car in Japan.

The Alto Lapin is a kei car in Japan and hence gets a 0.6L engine.

Suzuki says that the Alto Lapin X has been designed specifically to appeal to young women. The small car gets a Caramel Brown interior with a beige decor for its dashboard and door trims. Even the seats get a dual-tone brown and ivory finish.

The exterior of the Alto Lapin X can be had in a range of colors that includes Phoenix Red Pearl, Champagne Pink Pearl Metallic, Urban Brown Pearl Metallic, Cassis Pink Pearl Metallic and Champagne Pink Pearl Metallic White with a two-tone roof.

The car has been designed mainly for the young women audience.

The Alto Lapin Chocolat X is powered by a 0.66L three-cylinder DOHC engine with VVT technology, and uses a CVT gearbox. It is offered with 2WD and 4WD systems, and is priced between 1.4 million Yen to 1.53 million Yen (INR 7.47 lakhs to INR 8.17 lakhs). The car is already available at dealerships in Japan.

Features like HID headlights, a satellite navigation system and a multi-information display are seen on the Alto Lapin Chocolat X.
