IAB Report - Suzuki Celerio for UK gets 6 airbags, ESP, alloy wheels and more

Will be exported from Thailand.

The Suzuki Celerio will go on sale in the U.K. in February 2015. In the summer of 2015, the Japanese carmaker will bolster the Celerio range with the addition of a DualJet model, and a Celerio AMT (AGS - Auto Gear Shift).

Black polished alloy wheels will be seen on the top-end variant. They are not seen on this particular model.

Dimension wise, the Celerio for U.K. measures identical to the Indian model in length and width. However, at 1,530 mm in height, it is 30 mm shorter than the Indian model. We expect this could be because of the Indian model's higher ground clearance to tackle our road conditions.

The Celerio will initially be offered with the 1.0-liter three-cylinder K-Series petrol engine, though the power and torque outputs of this engine were not announced. Suzuki says that this engine will offer 23.26 km/l (the Indian model does 23.1 km/l). Later in 2015, a DualJet model with a higher economy and lower CO2 emissions will be launched.

Initially, only a manual model is offered.

All variants of the Celerio will see features like 6 airbags (Driver, passenger, side and curtain), ESP, alloy wheels, DAB Radio, a CD player with USB and Bluetooth connectivity. In addition to this, the top-end model is likely to see polished black alloy wheels.

For Europe, the Celerio will be exported from Thailand. India used to export the Celerio's predecessor (Suzuki Alto, known as the A-Star in India), but will not export the Celerio to Europe.
