India-made Suzuki Ciaz launched with an all-black cabin - South Africa
Produces slightly more power than the Indian model.
Suzuki South Africa has announced the prices and specifications of the Ciaz sedan, which will be exported by Maruti-Suzuki India Limited.
Similar to the Indian model, the Ciaz in South Africa is powered by a 1.4-liter four-cylinder K-Series petrol engine. However, where the Indian model makes 68 kW (91.18 hp), the South African model is tuned to produce 70 kW (93.87 hp). The torque, at 130 Nm, is identical to the Indian model though.
Just like the Indian model, the South African Ciaz too is offered with a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic transmission. Three variants are available - GL, GLX, GLX AT - priced between 179,900 and 214,900 Rand (INR 9.47 lakhs to INR 11.31 lakhs).
Cosmetic changes lie in the interior of the sedan. Where the Indian model is designed to appeal to local tastes with a dual-tone black-and-beige dashboard with a faux-wood insert, beige seats and floor mats, the South African model features an all-black dashboard with black seats and floor mats.
