Made-in-India Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 introduced in Japan as private import
The India-made Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 is now available in Japan as a private import. Regular readers will remember that the news was first broken to you by IAB in June 2019. The Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 is offered in Japan by Bikers Station SOX at JPY 389,000 (INR 2.64 lakh), by Chops JPY 425,000 (INR 2.88 lakh) and by Lex at JPY 398,000 (INR 2.70 lakh) respectively.
The Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 is offered with a 2-years warranty by SOX, while Lex offers only a 1-year warranty. Chops has not disclosed the warranty duration. Mechanically, the Gixxer SF 250 is completely unchanged. Suspension duties are taken care of by conventional telescopic fork up front and a monoshock at the rear. Stopping power comes from disc brakes at both ends with the additional safety net of ABS.
Colour options for the Japanese market include the standard Black and Silver shades. The MotoGP edition is not on offer at the moment.
Powering the Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 is a 249 cc single-cylinder, 4-valve, fuel-injected mill. Coupled to a 6-speed gearbox, the engine can produce 26.5 PS of power and 22.6 Nm of torque. The powerplant utilises Suzuki Oil Cooling System, a technology first created by Suzuki. Using oil-cooling instead of liquid-cooling helps in reducing production costs.

Besides that, the Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 tips the scales at 161 kg and has a minimum ground clearance of 165 mm. The fuel tank is a 12-litre unit, while the seat height stands at 800 mm.
The Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 is priced in India at INR 1.70 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The bike is imported to Japan via the Completely Built Unit (CBU) route.
