Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 technical specifications and features explained [Video]
Suzuki Motorcycle India has released a video that explains the features and technical details of the Gixxer SF 250, its new, single-cylinder quarter-litre motorcycle for the Indian market. Apart from the specifications, the video also shows the Suzuki Oil Cooling System, appearance, colours, materials and other aspects of the new Gixxer SF 250.

The Suzuki Gixxer SF 250, as explained in the video, uses a new engine that benefits from an oil cooling system and the company’s experience in the World MotoGP Championship. Below is what Suzuki says:
Lighter engines with higher output and lower fuel consumption were developed by using the latest oil cooling system combined with MotoGP technology.
The feature list of the Suzuki Gixxer 250 SF includes LED headlight and tail lamp, digital instrument console and dual-channel ABS. Anchoring tasks are performed by a single disc brake on both wheels. Hardware specifications are aimed to keep the costs low, and thus the motorcycle features conventional telescopic forks and monoshock. The feature list matches that of its rivals - the Honda CBR250R and the Yamaha Fazer 250. The Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 has been priced at INR 1,70,655 (ex-showroom Delhi).
The Gixxer SF 250 uses a newly developed 249 cc single-cylinder, 4-valve, SOHC, engine with fuel-injection and Suzuki Oil Cooling System. Paired with a six-speed transmission, the motor churns out 26.5 PS of max power at 9,000 rpm and 22.6 Nm of torque at 7,500 rpm. The same engine will propel the Gixxer 250 naked roadster, which will arrive by the end of this year. The Gixxer SF 250 is claimed to deliver a fuel economy of 38.5 km/l, and we expect to see similar numbers on the naked roadster.

Suzuki will use the quarter-litre platform to introduce a cruiser motorcycle as well. A report from earlier this month claimed that the 250 cc cruiser will come under the Intruder brand. Currently, the quarter-litre segment of the Indian market does not have a mass market cruiser, although Bajaj will update its Avenger series in 2020 and introduce a 250 cc model at that time. Harley-Davidson, too, plans to participate in the 250-500 cc space in the developing markets with a new product, and we may see a 250 cc cruiser from the American brand.
