India-made Suzuki Gixxer showcased at Tokyo - IAB Report

The Suzuki Gixxer is being showcased at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show. It was launched in India in August 2014, to compete with Yamaha FZ & FZ-S. The Gixxer 155 is the flagship model of the company's portfolio of products that are produced in India. The entry-level performance commuter is exported to markets like Nepal and Peru.

The Gixxer 155 measures 2,050 mm in length, 785 mm in width, 1,030 mm in height, 1,330 mm in wheelbase and 160 mm in ground clearance. Its saddle height is 780 mm, fuel tank capacity is 12 litres, and kerb weight is 135 kg. The bike is equipped with a standard telescopic fork with 41 mm inner tubes, a swing arm with a monoshock, an LED taillamp, a pair of 17-inch alloy wheels, disc brake at the front, a 100/80 bias-ply tyre upfront and a 140/60 radial tyre at the rear, both of which are tubeless.

It is powered by a 154.9 cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine with 2 valves and SOHC, mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The motor produces 14.8 PS maximum power at 8,000 rpm and 14 Nm peak torque at 6,000 rpm.

The Gixxer 155 is offered in four monotone colours - grey, blue, red and black, at INR 84,634, and in two dual-tone themes - red/black and white/blue at INR 85,729 ex-showroom, New Delhi. There is also a fully faired version named the Suzuki Gixxer SF.
