Suzuki's Fazer-rival takes shape for a launch in the coming months.

Here are the first images of the fully-faired Suzuki Gixxer SF without a hint of camouflage. While previous reports and spyshots have hinted at, or shown the faired Gixxer on test, these images show the motorcycle in the flesh, and suggest an imminent launch.

The Gixxer SF would continue with the Gixxer's mechanicals.

GaadiWaadi reports that the faired Gixxer is named Gixxer SF. With the Gixxer SF, Suzuki will take on rivals such as the Yamaha Fazer and Honda CBR150R.

With power expected to come from the same 154.9 cc single-cylinder engine seen on the naked Gixxer, engineers could retune this engine to account for the additional weight of the fairing. For reference, the naked Gixxer weighs 135 kg. The Gixxer is good for 14.8 PS at 8,000 rpm and 14 Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm, and comes matched to a 5-speed transmission.

Engineers could retune the 154.9cc engine to account for the additional weight.
