The Suzuki GSX250R will begin US deliveries in April 2017 and will carry the legendary 'Katana' badging.

Targeting entry-level consumers, the GSX250R boasts of a more usable low and mid-range torque than the GW250 (Inazuma). The engine is the same 248 cc parallel twin, liquid cooled, SOHC unit. The output has not been revealed for the US version, but expect it to be the same 25 PS of maximum power at 8,000 rpm and 23.4 Nm of peak torque at 6,500 rpm as the Chinese model.

The Suzuki GSX250R claims to have a fuel efficiency of 76 mpg (32 km/l) which for the 15 litre fuel tank translates to a range of more than 280 miles (450 km). With dual LED position lamps, the bike gets a halogen headlamp. The tail section and LED taillamp resemble the GSX-R1000R. A low seat height of 790 mm will further add to the versatility of the bike, making it easier for shorter riders.

The suspension setup has been sourced from KYB and includes a right side down telescopic forks in the front and a mono shock in the rear. Ground clearance is a handsome 160 mm. Anchors are 2 piston callipers from Nissin over a single petal disc in the front and a single piston calliper (from the same brand) in the rear.

Available in white and black, the Suzuki GSX250R is surprisingly missing out on the MotoGP paint scheme seen at various Auto Shows.

Suzuki will be offering the bike in the US with two paint options, Pearl Glacier White and Pearl Nebular Black. Pricing will be revealed closer to launch.
