A Japanese report speculates that the Suzuki Ignis could launch in Japan in February 2016, and that a formal announcement/launch will be held in January. It was first unveiled at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show in October, and has not started sales globally.

According to Suzuki, the Ignis will offer “versatility for daily life and leisure”.

The Suzuki Ignis is based on all-new lightweight platform which promises 30 percent better stiffness and 15 percent reduction in weight. The Ignis measures 3,700 mm in length, 1,660 mm in width, and 1,595 mm in height, and features a design inspired by the Suzuki iM-4 Concept from the 2015 Geneva Motor Show.

According to Suzuki, the Ignis will offer “versatility for daily life and leisure”, with a high view point, sufficient ground clearance and capability to go on snowy roads and rough tracks. As for technical specification, the Ignis is powered by a 1.25-liter DualJet petrol four cylinder engine paired to an SHVS mild hybrid system. It comes with a CVT and features an ALLGRIP AWD system in top-end trims.
