Could debut at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show.

Suzuki has started real-world road tests of the iM-4 mini SUV, which was revealed in concept form at this year's Geneva Motor Show. Images snapped on German roads reveal that the production iM-4 will look identical to the concept, save for minor changes to the bumpers, wheels and lights.

According to reports, the iM-4's production version could be called the 'Suzuki Ignis'. It will slot below the S-Cross and Vitara models in Europe, and is likely to share engines with the Baleno, which is announced to launch in Europe in early-2016.

The engine lineup would consist of the 1.0-liter turbocharged three-cylinder Boosterjet engine, and a 1.2-liter DualJet petrol engine with a mild hybrid system (SHVS - Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki). The Boosterjet engine, called the K10C, develops 110 hp at 5,500 rpm and 170 Nm of torque between 2,000-3,500 rpm on the Baleno. The 1.2-liter DualJet on the other hand produces 88 hp and 120 Nm of torque, and is assisted by the ISG developing 3.08 hp and 50 Nm of torque.

The iM-4, for now, remains unconfirmed for the Indian market. Maruti will launch a sub-4 meter SUV in early-2016, codenamed the 'YBA' however. The YBA, which will rival the Ford EcoSport, will be powered by 1.2-liter K-Series and 1.3-liter DDiS diesel engines.
