Suzuki Intruder 250 - IAB Rendering

Suzuki is reportedly working on a 250cc cruiser motorcycle that will share its mechanical specifications with the newly launched Gixxer 250. The upcoming quarter-litre bike, as stated in the source report, will feature the Intruder moniker.

IAB's render of the Suzuki Intruder 250 gives a glimpse of what to expect from the Indian arm of the Japanese two-wheeler brand.

While the details are scarce at the moment, IAB has created a digital render of what the motorcycle could look like. For starters, the Intruder 250 will draw styling cues from the 155cc sibling. However, the quarter-litre cruiser will pack a revised list of features that will include a full LED headlight at the front and a revised shape for the exhaust. The cockpit will share the instrument console with the Gixxer SF 250.

Even the mechanical specifications will be identical to the Gixxer SF 250. The fully-faired cousin, for reference, uses a 249 cc single-cylinder, fuel-injected, oil-cooled, 4-valve engine that produces 26.5 PS of maximum power at 9,000 rpm and 22.6 Nm of peak torque at 7,500 rpm. The engine sends power to the rear wheel via a six-speed gearbox. While the Gixxer SF 250 isn’t BS-VI compliant, the cruiser model will arrive with the latest emission norm compliance.

Cost-efficient hardware specifications will include conventional telescopic front forks and a monoshock at the back to handle the shock absorption duties. Anchoring department will consist of single discs on both wheels. The safety net, similar to the Gixxer SF 250, will include dual-channel ABS.

The Suzuki Intruder 250 is expected to arrive in the INR 1.75-1.85 lakh (ex-showroom) price band. The Suzuki Gixxer SF 250, for reference, retails at INR 1,70,655 (ex-showroom Delhi). Once launched, the Intruder 250 will compete against the 250 cc Harley-Davidson cruiser that the American brand will offer in developing countries from next year. Bajaj also plans to update its Avenger range in 2020, and we could see a 250 cc cruiser from the Pune-based brand.

The Suzuki Intruder 250 may draw styling cues from the Intruder 155 (pictured). Expect the quarter-litre cruiser to arrive with full LED headlight and revised instrument console that it will share with the Gixxer SF 250.
