Report - Maruti Suzuki to bring iV-4 concept and Celerio to Auto Expo 2014

Maruti Suzuki's display plans for the 2014 Auto Expo include the Celerio and the iV-4 concept, says Overdrive.

The iV-4 concept was first shown at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. The grille of the iV-4 comes straight from the XA-Alpha concept that Maruti debuted at the 2012 Auto Expo. The iv4 measures 4,215 mm in length, 1,885 mm in width and 1,665 mm in height with a wheelbase of 2,500 mm.

Suzuki will reportedly bring the iV-4 concept SUV to the 2014 Auto Expo.

The iV-4 could compete with the Nissan Juke in Europe. A senior Suzuki official had confirmed earlier production of the iV-4 would begin in its Magyar, Hungary plant in 2015 and subsequently be launched in Europe. At that time, he had stated that the iv4 would not be sold outside Europe.

The iV-4 is a 4x4 crossover that gets Suzuki's "ALLGRIP" 4-wheel-drive technology. The light-weight crossover also has one of the 'lowest CO2 emissions in its class.'

The iV-4 goes into production in Hungary in 2015 and will be launched in Europe subsequently. There haven't been any talks about bringing it to India yet.

The Celerio on the other hand has been spied inside out. The Celerio will replace the A-Star in India and the Alto globally. It will feature an automated manual transmission and a manual transmission as well. The Celerio is based on Suzuki's A:Wind concept.

The Celerio would be powered by Maruti's 1.0-liter K-Series engine currently used on the Alto K10, A-Star and Wagon R.
