Rumour has it Suzuki is likely to commence Jimny manufacturing in India in 2020 for exports to the international markets including Middle-East and Africa. The small off-roader currently rolls out of Suzuki's production line in Kosai, Japan.

The fourth-generation Suzuki Jimny has an evolutionary design.

The Suzuki Jimny has been under rigorous speculations regarding its Indian launch for a couple of years now. But its Indian launch plans were put on the sidelines due to various factors including the low demand for small 3-door SUVs. However, the rumour of its local manufacturing is surely a positive sign as one way or another it could be introduced as a spiritual successor to the now-defunct Suzuki Gypsy. If earlier reports are to be believed, Suzuki could make use of its new plant in India, which is located near Ahmedabad, Gujarat for Jimny manufacturing.

The fourth-generation Suzuki Jimny has an evolutionary design. It comes with round-shaped headlights and fog lamps, upright pillars, flared-up wheel arches which gives it a muscular look, and high-raised riding stance making it an efficient go anywhere SUV.

The Suzuki Jimny is powered by a K15B 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine that outputs 75 kW (102 PS) of maximum power at 6,000 rpm and 130 Nm of peak torque at 4,000 rpm. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed automatic gearbox.

The fourth generation Suzuki Jimny's 1.5-litre K15B engine is 15% lighter than the 1.3-litre M13A engine it replaces.

Suzuki also offers its ALLGRIP PRO part-time 4WD system which is supported by the vehicle stability control and a new Brake-enabled Limited Slip Differential system.
