For AOP (Adult Occupant Protection), the S-Cross scored 15.48/16, resulting in a 5/5 star rating. It is to be noted that the S-Cross scored higher than the Honda CR-V (which got 15.46/16), and is now the "leading scorer for the SUV category under ASEAN NCAP". The frontal off-set crash test was carried out at a speed of 63 km/h.

Maruti-Suzuki is expected to launch the S-Cross towards the end of July or in early-August. For the Indian market, the S-Cross will be manufactured at the Manesar plant with Indian specifications in mind.

The S-Cross was not subjected to side impact tests by the ASEAN NCAP.
