TKM employees getting up to INR 3.5 lakh discount on Toyota Yaris - Report

The Toyota Yaris has been a slow-selling car ever since it was launched back in April 2018. With an average monthly sales of merely 450 units (as of Sept 2018-Feb 2019), it appears to have run out of breath in a race to beat its segment rivals which churn out much greater numbers. No surprise then, that TKM is now offering huge discounts on it in order to clear out unsold stock.

To the general public, the Toyota Yaris is being offered at a direct cash discount of INR 30,000 along with an exchange bonus of INR 10,000 on selling the old car to the dealer. On the other hand, benefits on the MY2018 units are more at INR 1.44 lakh, depending on the inventory available.

For the TKM employees, the benefits are far greater. There is a cash discount of INR 2.5 lakh on J and G trims of the MY19 units and INR 3.5 lakh on all trims of MY18 units. Moreover, they can avail INR 5 lakh loan at 0% interest, and in case the amount is higher, the loan can be availed at 9.05% for a period of 7 years from Toyota Finance Services. However, the offer is valid only till the stock lasts and benefits can vary depending on the location.

The Toyota Yaris is currently the only model in its segment not to be available with a diesel engine option. The petrol-only car draws its power from the 1.5-litre Dual VVT-i four-cylinder motor that produces a maximum power output of 109 PS and a peak torque of 140 Nm. This engine can be had with a 6-speed MT or a CVT.

The Toyota Yaris' safety package comprises 7 airbags, ABS with EBD, parking sensors, reverse camera, VSC, HAC, TPMS and disc brakes on all wheels.
