TKM focus on reducing waiting period for Toyota Innova Crysta & Toyota Fortuner
The Fortuner has a waiting period of three months.
With no new products to introduce, Toyota Kirloskar Motor is focusing on reducing the waiting period on its two top-selling models: the Toyota Innova Crysta and Toyota Fortuner, this year.
Speaking about the company's new focus, N Raja, Director and Senior Vice President (Sales and Marketing) said:
We are capitalising all our efficiencies towards reducing the waiting period. The new Fortuner along with the Innova Crysta is produced in Plant 1 in Bidadi, Karnataka. Plant 1 has a production capacity of 100,000 units in a year and is currently running at 90-95 per cent capacity.
Currently, the Toyota Fortuner has a waiting period of 3 months. So far, Toyota Kirloskar has sold over 12,200 examples of the Fortuner since its launch in November in India, which is strong feat given that it's a premium 7-seat SUV that it now retails between INR 26.6 Lakhs - INR 31.8 Lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi). It is available with two engine options: the familiar 122 kW (166 PS) 2.7-litre petrol and 130 kW (177 PS) 2.8-litre diesel engines, which can be had with a 6-speed manual or automatic.
