Top-end 2017 Hyundai Verna spotted on test with a touchscreen
All-new Hyundai Verna confirmed to arrive in showrooms next month.
The 2017 Hyundai Verna's Indian launch is just around the corner and IAB reader Shankar spotted a top-end 2017 Hyundai Verna equipped with a touchscreen in Chennai this week, perhaps on its routine pre-launch runs.
The 2017 Hyundai Verna gets a bold new exterior inspired by the company's latest global design language and incorporates the signature Cascading grille which is flanked by wraparound headlights and LED daytime running lights. The international-spec all-new Verna measures 4,385 mm in length (+15 mm), 1,729 mm in width (+29 mm) and 1,450 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,580 mm (+10 mm). These dimensions should apply to the Indian-spec version, with minor alterations.
The current Hyundai Verna is offered with 107 PS 1.4-litre Gamma petrol, 123 PS 1.6-litre Gamma petrol, 90 PS 1.4-litre U2 CRDi diesel and 128 PS 1.6-litre U2 CRDi diesel engines and 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual and 4-speed automatic transmissions. No changes on the engine or transmission choices are reported so far, but the mild-hybrid tech is no longer on the agenda with the Indian government discouraging hybrid vehicles, imposing the highest level (43%) of taxes on them post-GST.
