To launch in Indonesia later this year.

Speaking to Indonesian website Viva.co.id, a salesperson has divulged that the Toyota Calya mini MPV will launch in Indonesia this year, and will be priced between 130-160 million IDR (INR 6.38 lakhs to INR 7.85 lakhs). It will be positioned between the Toyota Agya and Toyota Avanza.

The Toyota Calya is based on the Toyota Agya, and will be sold as an LCGC (Low Cost Green Car).

A week ago, spyshots of the Toyota Calya revealed a mini MPV with design cues from the second generation Toyota Innova (Innova Crysta). It's based on the Toyota Agya, and will be sold as an LCGC (Low Cost Green Car). According to Indonesian regulations, an LCGC must pack a petrol engine displacing between 980 cc – 1,200 cc and is capable of a fuel economy of at least 20 km/L. It should also be manufactured in Indonesia with a high degree of localization.

The petrol engine in question is reported to be sourced from the Toyota Etios, which is a 1.2L unit that produces 80 PS and 10.6 kgm (103.95 Nm). Transmission options could include 5-speed manual or automatic gearboxes.

Daihatsu is also working on rebadging the Toyota Calya as the Daihatsu Sigra, which will be inspired by the UFC-3 concept (pictured).

Daihatsu is also looking to rebadge the Toyota Calya as the Daihatsu Sigra. While the internals will be shared with the Calya, the exterior styling is likely to be influenced by the Daihatsu UFC-3 Concept.
