Toyota Crown Concept at the 2017 Tokyo Motor Show - Live
At the 2017 Tokyo Motor Show, Toyota Motor Corporation has unveiled the next generation Crown full-size sedan in the guise of a near-production concept. It replaces the 14th gen model, which has been on sale in Japan and select Asian markets since 2012.
The Crown concept measures 4,910 mm long, 1,800 mm wide, 1,455 mm high and has a wheelbase of 2,920 mm. Compared to the previous generation, the new Toyota Crown is 25 mm longer. The biggest change is the switch to Toyota's TNGA platform, which is claimed to offer customers the "enjoyment of driving cars while pursuing a future mobility society". Toyota also boasts that the new Crown is being tested at the Nurburgring racetrack in Germany, so expect good handling and high speed stability.
The exterior styling is now a bit more cohesive and contemporary. The front-end is dominated by a large honeycomb grille flanked by LED headlamps and aggressive bumper details, the side profile has a new c-pillar design, and the posterior has new LED taillamps, body-painted spoiler, and dual exhaust tips housed within a diffuser.

There's no word on the engine under the hood, but expect Toyota to offer regular petrol and hybrid variants at launch, which is scheduled for the summer of 2018.
