Toyota Etios facelift shows its updated rear in new spyshot

Launch expected to take place during this festive season.

Rushlane has acquired a spyshot of the 2017 Toyota Etios (facelift) testing. It's expected to launch during this festive season; over five years since the Etios was introduced to the Indian market.

The rear-end is likely to feature a chrome bar running between the taillamps and a slightly facelifted lower bumper.

The spyshot features the rear-end of the Etios facelift, which is likely to feature a chrome bar running between the taillamps and a slightly facelifted lower bumper. In older, up close spyshots, the front-end revealed a redesigned grille, where the sleek lines flow to form a V-shaped grille in the center with 4 slats, as well as new intakes and foglamp enclosures that look similar to the Toyota Vios.

Inside, the new Toyota Etios could offer a new fabric material for the cabin upholstery, while the steering pad design will be updated. A digital instrument cluster similar to the unit fitted in the Brazil-spec Etios and the Toyota Prius could also be seen in the facelifted Etios.

The interior changes could be similar to that of Brazil-spec Etios, which has also underwent a facelift.

No changes to the engine lineup have been reported. The current Etios is available with a 1.5L petrol engine and 1.4L diesel engine, which produces 90 PS/132 Nm of torque and 68 PS/170 Nm respectively. The only transmission option is a 5-speed manual gearbox in both variants.
