Toyota Fortuner TRD Sportivo India launch by month-end

Toyota Kirloskar Motor will launch the TRD Sportivo variant of the Fortuner before the end of September, dealers confirmed to IAB. Customers can place orders for the Toyota Fortuner TRD Sportivo now.

The launch of the Toyota Fortuner TRD Sportivo will take place towards the end of September. Bookings can be made at Toyota dealerships currently.

The TRD Sportivo trim is based on the 2.8 L Diesel 4x2 AT variant of the Toyota Fortuner. It features only cosmetic additions which comes via a body kit, and new alloy wheels and decals. A gloss black finish replaces the chrome applique on the grille and also adds a red 'TRD' badge. Front fog lamps get a black housing as part of the bumper extension. TRD Sportivo stickering with red and black stripes is placed just above the door sill.

Toyota will offer the TRD Sportivo only with the diesel automatic pairing without 4x4. The 2,755 cc engine under the hood of the diesel Fortuner produces 450 Nm @ 1,600 - 2,400 rpm when paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission. Peak power of 177 PS comes in at 3,400 rpm.

The equipment list stays the same. The Toyota Fortuner TRD Sportivo features Bi-beam LED headlights, LED tail lamps, Smartkey, 7-inch infotainment system with navigation, leather inlays in the centre console, powered tailgate, and one-touch tumble second-row seats.

The TRD Sportivo variant will come with the 2.8 L Diesel paired with the 6-speed automatic. There will be no 4x4 on offer.

No word on the prices of the Toyota Fortuner TRD Sportivo yet, but expect to shell out around INR 1.50 lakhs extra over the standard 4x2 diesel AT variant. Display units have been spotted at some dealerships. Deliveries of the Sportivo variant will commence this month.
