Toyota Glanza spied during TVC shoot in Goa [Video]

The Toyota Glanza has been spied during its TVC shoot in Goa. The first product to come out from the Toyota-Suzuki partnership in India will be launched on 6 June.

The Toyota Glanza is nothing more than a rebranded Maruti Baleno. It is differentiated simply with a distinctive radiator grille with double chrome wings. Everything else, including the interior, is exactly the same as that of the donor car. Toyota Kirloskar Motor will sell the car in two grades: G and V, which will be equivalent of the original hatchback's Zeta and Alpha grades respectively.

ArrayFrom everything said above, it's quite obvious that the Toyota Glanza will have no mechanical changes either, and that indeed is the case. It will be available with the 1.2L 1.2L VVT N/A four-cylinder petrol engine producing 61 kW (82.94 PS) and 113 Nm of torque, paired with a standard 5-speed manual transmission or an optional CVT. Also, TKM could offer the Maruti Baleno's new 1.2L Dual Jet Dual VVT N/A four-cylinder petrol engine featuring the dual-battery Progressive Smart Hybrid mild-hybrid system as well. This engine produces 66 kW (89.74 PS) and 113 Nm of torque and is available with only a 5-speed MT.

The Toyota Glanza is expected to be placed higher in positioning compared to the Maruti Maleno, which costs INR 5.59 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) onwards. It will likely be available with 3 year/1,00,000 km warranty. The Maruti Baleno, on the other hand, comes with 2 year/40,000 km warranty.
