Spied - Facelifted Toyota Innova 'Z' reveals its interiors
The launch of the facelifted Toyota Innova is just around the corner, with a speculative date being rumored as October 5th or October 9th. Either way, its a week away and more importantly we already know the prices and we have informed our readers that a new top-end 'Z' variant would be added.
In New Delhi, Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) will be charging INR 15.06 lakhs (ex-Showroom) for the Z variant which is a good INR 53,000 more than the VX trim. The Z variant would appear even more expensive when the on-road price is taken into account, which stands at a premium INR 17.66 lakhs. So what are the extra features TKM is planning for the Z model?
MotorTrend claims that these images reveal the interiors of the Z variant. And it seems we have nothing but bad news. Features such as steering mounted audio controls, a comprehensive entertainment system, ABS and dual front airbags are already seen on the VX grade and as a result seeing them on the Z variant is mandatory. The only difference seems to be the color of the faux-wood used on the door trim. It seems to have changed from a lighter brown to a darker shade of the same color.
The rear seats reveal a leatherette fabric and we're not sure whether this comes as standard or as an optional dealer accessory. The exteriors reveal body graphics and a chrome side guard, which again could be dealer level accessories.
From these images, we have to conclude that the top-end Z variant is nothing but the VX variant with a more expensive price tag. We would have liked to see features such as a DVD player and maybe headrest mounted LCD screens to justify the additional price.
