Likely to be offered in three-row version.

The second generation Toyota Sienta was launched exclusively in Japan in July 2015 and now is being primed to serve families in Indonesia. Ahead of its arrival, the mini-MPV has been spied fully undisguised on public roads apparently being driven for a commercial shoot, courtesy of Mr.Daniel of AutonetMagz.

The 2016 Toyota Sienta is available with 2 petrol engines and a petrol-electric hybrid powertrain in Japan.

The second generation Toyota Sienta is based on the Toyota Yaris, and will be positioned between the Toyota Avanza and Toyota Innova in Indonesia. The Indonesian specifications aren't available as of now, but the Japanese specifications gives a sense of what to expect.

The JDM-spec 2016 Toyota Sienta can be had with two petrol engines or a conventional hybrid powertrain.

The two petrol engines are the 2NR-FKE 1.5-litre unit producing 80 kW (107 hp) and 111 Nm of torque and the 1NZ-FE unit producing 76 kW (102 hp) and 132 Nm of torque. Both are mated to a 'Super CVT-i' gearbox. The hybrid system consists of the 1NZ-FXE 1.5-litre petrol engine that develops 54 kW (72 hp) and 111 Nm of torque and an electric motor that generates 45 kW (60 hp) and 169 Nm of torque. The hybrid system produces 73 kW (98 hp) in total and power is sent to the wheels via an e-CVT gearbox.

The Toyota Sienta spied in Indonesia appears to be a three-row version.

The Toyota Sienta is offered in 5-, 6- and 7-seat seating configurations in Japan, but it remains to be seen which makes it to Indonesia. The Sienta in the spy shots looks to be a three-row version.
