Triumph India-made 250cc motorcycle sketch released
At the 2013 EICMA International Motorcycle Exhibition which was held in Milan, Italy, Triumph revealed this sketch of their upcoming 250cc motorcycle which will be a 'Made-in-India' product.
While the name of the motorcycle is still unknown, we know that it would be made at Triumph's upcoming Narasapura plant in Karnataka, and that sales would commence in 2015 (we think it would be in the early parts of 2015). The company also confirmed that it would be powered by a single-cylinder 250cc engine, without divulging the power and torque outputs.
Triumph does not state if the India-made bike would be exported to other global destinations, or whether this is an emerging-market focused product, though it is obvious that the entry-level model would be priced much lower than its current lineup to be accessible to a wider range of audience.
Triumph enters India later this month, on November 28th to be specific. The company has appointed Mr. Vimal Sumbly, former General Manager of Sales at Bajaj Auto, as the brand head in India. While Triumph has not announced their Indian lineup, we expect the Bonneville, Speed Triple and Street Triple to be among the first products from the Leicestershire-based company.
Stay tuned for further updates on the new baby Triumph.
