Triumph to launch in India today, Excited much?

28/11/2013 - 09:21 Triumph Anjan Ravi

November 28th is here, and so will Triumph in a few hours from now.

The Leicestershire-based company will unveil its Indian lineup today, announce the prices of the products, and throw some light as to the initial cities in which sales will commence. For now, we know that India's first Triumph dealership is located in the city of Bangalore (on Residency Road).

Triumph’s Indian lineup is expected to start with the Bonneville (which was also shown at the 2012 Auto Expo with a INR 5.5 lakhs price tag) and extend to higher models such as the Rocket III. Other products we expect to see later on today are the Street Triple, Daytona 675, Speed Triple, Tiger 800 XC and Storm.

Triumph India will have Bajaj Auto's former General Manager of Sales, Mr. Vimal Sumbly, as its operations head. While some of the higher-end models could be CBUs (Completely Built up Units), the models at the lower end of the range would be assembled at a plant in Manesar, Haryana, from CKD (Completely Knocked Down) kits.

The Bonneville will be Triumph India's entry-level model.

Triumph has bigger plans for India, and released a sketch of their upcoming 250cc 'Made-in-India' motorcycle at the 2013 EICMA International Motorcycle Exhibition which was held in Milan, Italy earlier this month.

Stay tuned to Indian Autos Blog for further updates on Triumph's launch in India. In the meantime, why don't you tell us in the comment box below as to the models you would like to see from Triumph India, and the price you would be willing to pay for them.
