TVS Apache RTR 160 ABS launched at INR 84,710 - Report
After the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V, the Apache RTR 160 has received the safety net of ABS. The TVS Apache RTR 160 ABS has been launched at an ex-showroom price tag of INR 84,710 and INR 88,199 for rear drum and rear disc respectively. For reference, the non-ABS drum variant was priced at INR 78,710 while the rear disc version without ABS costs INR 81,219 (all prices are ex-showroom, Bangalore).

The Apache RTR 160, similar to the RTR 160 4V (INR 98,644), comes with a single-channel ABS. Its relatively bigger version, the RTR 180, gets dual-channel ABS.
Apart from the addition of ABS and a marginal increase in the price tag, there is nothing new to report. The non-ABS versions would remain on sale until stock lasts or March 31, 2019, whichever comes first. Styling cues continue to feature a halogen headlight with LED DRL, LED tail light, semi-digital instrument console, a 12-litre fuel tank with scoops for a muscular look, split pillion grab rail, and an engine cowl.
Engine specs feature a 159.7 cc, single-cylinder, 4-stroke, air-cooled, 2-valve engine that delivers 15.12 PS of maximum power at 8,500 rpm and 13.03 Nm of peak torque at 6,500 revs. The motor is paired with a five-speed gearbox. Apart from the addition of ABS, braking hardware remains unchanged. A 270mm petal disc brake at the front and a 130 mm drum unit at the rear perform anchoring tasks. The option of 200 mm disc brake at the back enhances the stopping prowess.
The motorcycle is built around a Double Cradle Synchro STIFF chassis while the shock absorption tasks are performed by telescopic forks with hydraulic dampers at the front and monotube inverted gas-filled Shox (MIG) with spring aid at the rear.
