TVS Apache RTR 200 faired or adventure variant ruled out - Report

The TVS Apache RTR 200 was originally showcased in a carburettor and a fuel injected variant.

TVS is in no mood to introduce a faired or an adventure tourer version of the TVS Apache RTR 200, revealed Mr Arun Siddharth, Vice President, Marketing, Motorcycles, TVS Motor Company, to Economic Times.

The TVS Apache RTR 200 will not be seen in any new avatar and will be available as a naked roadster.

Mr Arun Siddharth said:

We don’t want to overdo and get distracted, we have a good clip rate with how we are progressing and we would want to maintain that. RTR’s job is grow the market, this market is about 15% of overall industry. This kind of format is the need at the moment, in the world also naked sport bike is a bigger segment, this where we want to be and grow the market with relevant technologies and refreshed variants.

The TVS Apache RTR 200 is powered by a 197.75 cc mill coupled to a 5-speed gearbox. The carburetted version of the engine is capable of producing 20.05 PS of power and 18.1 Nm of torque. The fuel injected version produces 21 PS of maximum power.

The bike has a kerb weight of 148 kg for the carb variant while the fuel injection weighs 0.5 kg more. It has a seat height of 800 mm and a ground clearance of 180 mm. It is suspended over 37 mm Kayaba telescopic forks up front and a monoshock in the rear.

The TVS Apache RTR 200 is retailed in India only with a carburettor and option of TVS Remora and Pirelli tyres. The ABS version too has not been placed on sale.

The TVS Apache RTR 200 is powered by a 197.75 cc mill producing 20.05 PS of power and 18.1 Nm of torque.

The TVS Apache RTR 200 has been priced at INR 92,615 for the Remora tyre variant and INR 97,615 for the Pirelli tyre version (both prices ex-showroom, Delhi).
