TVS Motor has displayed several innovations at past editions of the Auto Expo.

A report in Business Standard claims that TVS Motor has earned a patent for a power propulsion system for a hybrid two-wheeler provided with a hub motor. TVS had applied for the patent in 2008.

A production version of the TVS Qube could borrow the engine from the TVS Jupiter along with an electric motor.

Back in 2010 TVS had showcased the TVS Qube concept at the Delhi Auto Expo which was powered by an engine borrowed from the TVS Scooty Pep+ and an electric motor, details of which are not in the public domain. After being showcased again in 2012 the scooter was displayed with a 109.7 cc mill at the 2014 Auto Expo along with a hub mounted electric motor. Battery options included a 500 Wh and a 150 Wh lithium ion units. The kerb weight was a claimed 108 kg while the top speed was pegged at 75 km/h.

The report adds, that the patent filing claims:

The propulsion system does away with extra motion transmitting parts like gearbox thereby being efficient in terms of net power transmitted to the traction wheel.

The TVS Qube claimed a 30 percent reduction in carbon dioxide emission and a 30 percent increase in fuel efficiency over a conventional scooter.

TVS also showcased an AMT scooter at the 2014 Auto Expo called the TVS Graphite.

TVS Motor also displayed an AMT scooter in the form of the TVS Graphite concept at the 2014 Auto Expo.
