New on-off road commuter could compete with the Passion Pro TR.

The TVS Max 125, available in Indonesia, was spotted on test in India recently by Autocar India. The on-off road commuter motorcycle could be introduced in the company's Indian commuter portfolio.

In Indonesia, the motorcycle is powered by the 125 cc engine used by the Phoenix.

The TVS Max 125 features a long travel telescopic suspension at the front and a longer pair of shock absorbers at the rear. Other noteworthy features seen on the bike include a larger rim at the front, a petal-rotor equipped front disc brake, alloy foot rests and an exposed chain, not to mention the off-road friendly front bumper. It should also be mentioned that a regular variant of the Max is available in Indonesia.

Power for the motorcycle comes from the same engine used by the Phoenix. The engine in question is a single-cylinder, air-cooled, 124.5 cc four-stroke motor producing 11 PS (10.84 bhp) at 8,000 rpm and 10.8 Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm. The transmission would be a 4-speed unit.

A petal-rotor type disc brake is seen at the front.

The Max 125 adventure motorcycle would find competition in the Hero Passion Pro TR, even though the Hero uses a smaller 100 cc engine.

Expected Price (if launched): INR 55,000 - 60,000 ex-Showroom
