TVS Radeon commuter launched in India, priced at INR 48,400 [Update]

TVS Motor Company has launched the TVS Radeon commuter motorcycle in India for a price of INR 48,400 (ex-showroom Delhi). The Radeon joins the company’s entry-level commuter line-up and is positioned between the TVS Star City Plus and the TVS Victor.

The TVS Radeon commuter is a middle-commuter segment product, which is developed for the "confident self-made Indian man." The motorcycle features a rugged design language that comprises a ribbed fuel tank with thigh pads, a spacious and comfortable cushioned seat, upright ergonomics and a rear parcel rack with luggage mounts. It comes with premium features like LED daytime running lights, twin-pod car-like instrument cluster, USB charging port, side stand indicator, chrome muffler and electric start.

Powering the TVS Radeon commuter is a 109.7 cc 'Dura-Life' engine that is tuned to generate 8.2 bhp of maximum power at 7,000 rpm and 8.7 Nm of peak torque at 5,000 rpm. The single-cylinder air-cooled engine is mated to a 5-speed transmission. It features a larger air filter for better combustion, and it produces higher low-end torque. The Radeon is equipped with a 10 litre-fuel tank and has a fuel economy rating of 69.3 km/l.

The TVS Radeon is available in four colours, namely White, Black, Purple, and Beige. It comes with a comprehensive warranty of 5 years. The motorcycle features best-in-segment high ground clearance and long wheelbase. It has 18-inch alloy wheels shod with Dura Grip tubeless tyres, a 3D chrome logo, and a maintenance-free battery.

The TVS Radeon is underpinned by a new single-cradle tubular chassis, which uses the engine as a stressed member. The bike comes shod with telescopic forks up front and twin coil-spring shock absorbers at the rear. It has drum brakes as standard, and it features synchronized braking technology (SBT).

The TVS Radeon features a rugged design with a ribbed fuel tank, largest cushion seat in its class, and luggage mounts.

TVS Motor Company aims to sell around 2 lakh units of the Radeon annually. The motorcycle will be available for sale at dealerships across India from next month. The company has invested INR 60 crores for developing the product, and the investment was less as its based on an existing platform.
