In August 2018, the TVS Radeon was launched in the commuter motorcycle space of the Indian market at an ex-showroom price tag of INR 48,400. As told to IAB at the launch, the motorcycles were scheduled to arrive in showrooms in September.

The TVS Radeon, due to heavy demand, will arrive in the North Indian market first. The west and south India launch will happen in two weeks' time.

In the latest update, IAB understands that the Radeon will first arrive in the northern market. The decision has been taken due to the higher demand for the product in northern India. Meanwhile, the western and southern markets will get the motorcycle in about two-week time (from the date of reporting, i.e. September 17, 2018).

The Radeon is positioned between the TVS Star City Plus and the Victor and will be sold in the entry-level commuter segment. TVS targets annual sales of around two lakh unit for the Radeon. The two-wheeler company has invested INR 60 crore for developing the product.

Being an entry-level product aimed at the 'millennials of middle India' referring to the entrepreneurs and small business owners outside Tier 1 & Tier 2 cities, the Radeon comes equipped with basic hardware. The motorcycle is built around a new single-cradle tubular chassis that uses the engine as a stressed member. Feature list includes conventional telescopic forks up front and twin coil-spring shock absorbers at the rear. Drum brakes provide the stopping power while the safety net includes synchronized braking technology (SBT).

Mechanical specifications include a 109.7cc, single-cylinder air-cooled, 'Dura-Life' engine that delivers 8.2 bhp of maximum power at 7,000 rpm and 8.7 Nm of peak torque at 5,000 rpm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed transmission. It features a larger air filter which is aimed to offer better combustion and is claimed to produce higher low-end torque. The engine is claimed to return 69.3 km/l mileage. Considering the fuel economy, the motorcycle, with a 10-litre fuel tank, offers a range of almost 700 km.
