Twin-cylinder 750 cc Royal Enfield continues testing

The Royal Enfield upcoming twin cylinder engine will find a home first in the cafe racer.

The Royal Enfield Continental GT 750 has been spotted doing rounds in India. The motorcycle has been spotted by a BikesIndia reader in Chennai.

The Royal Enfield Continental GT 750 will get a new oil-cooled twin cylinder motorcycle.

Just like the previous spy shot, the bike sports a black exhaust canister. The units spotted in Europe though had chrome canisters. The Royal Enfield Continental GT 750 will be the company’s attempt to gain global dominance in the middleweight segment which is the displacement bracket between 250-750 cc.

The Royal Enfield Continental GT will be competing against the Harley Davidson Street 750 which is also manufactured in India and exported. The output too can be expected to hover around the entry level motorcycle by the American manufacturer.

The upcoming Royal Enfield Continental GT though will include a few cost cutting measures adopted to keep the price tag under check. The first being the use of an air-cooled engine assisted by an oil-cooler. The use of fancy LEDs too will be given a miss. Parts like the switchgear, instrumentation and headlamp can be sourced from the smaller capacity, single-cylinder Royal Enfield Continental GT 535.

The Royal Enfield Continental GT 750 will follow the design language of the existing 535 cc single cylinder cafe racer.

The Royal Enfield Continental GT 750 is said to have a throaty exhaust note with a 270-degree firing order.
