Two-stroke Husqvarna TE250i & Husqvarna TE300i with fuel injection unveiled

The era of two-strokes got a shot in the arm when KTM announced the creation of fuel injected two-stroke powerplants. Sister brand Husqvarna has taken the same bikes and brought out two new Enduro motorcycles, Husqvarna TE250i and Husqvarna TE300i.

Both the Husqvarna TE 250i (pictured) and Husqvarna 300i get a separate 0.7-litre tank which stores 2-T oil.

The bikes get a pair of fuel injectors positioned at the transfer ports, delivering the perfect amount of fuel into the engine at all times, across all conditions. This helps in significantly reducing the fuel consumption and emissions. The Husqvarna TE250i and Husqvarna TE300i also promise a smooth and clean power delivery.

With the injectors delivering the fuel mixture downwards into the transfer port, the system ensures a more efficient combustion. Carefully placed at the rear of the cylinder, a special tube relays intake pressure data to the new ECU.

The essential 2-stroke oil is stored in a separate tank in the Husqvarna TE250i and Husqvarna TE300i, eliminating the need for pre-mixing. With its filler tube running through the frame, the 0.7-litre tank contains oil for five full tanks of fuel depending on conditions. Controlled by the EMS, the oil pump delivers the ideal amount of oil reducing waste as well as excessive smoke.

The Husqvarna TE300i (pictured) and TE250i will be available in Europe from July 2017.

The bikes also boast of updated brakes and suspension. The Husqvarna TE250i and Husqvarna TE300i will be available around the world from July 2017 onwards.
