UM Renegade Duty 230 spied testing in India

The UM Renegade Duty 230 has been spied testing in New Delhi, near the company’s headquarters in Okhla.

The front spoke rim is bigger than the rear unit, but the latter uses a meatier rubber.

The UM Renegade Duty is already on sale in the foreign markets, but comes in 125 and 150 cc variants. The Indian-spec model comes with a bigger 230 cc variant with air cooling. The engine reportedly makes 19 bhp of power. Expect a 5-speed transmission to pair with this engine, which will keep the costs competitive. The bike will be UM’s least expensive offering and will improve the affordability of UM’s portfolio. The company makes the bike at its Uttarakhand plant.

The large backrest with cushion will ensure good pillion comfort.

The ergonomics seems to be upright, with well-cushioned split seats. The front end gets telescopic fork, and the rear features a pair of shock absorbers. The motorcycle comes to a halt using a disc at the front and a drum unit at the rear. Instrumentation is likely to include an analogue speedometer with a digital inset for fuel level. On the sides of the front fork, the bike gets UM’s proprietary 360-degree LED, which enhances the bike’s visibility at night.
