While Piaggio has not confirmed its release, dealerships IAB spoke with said that the variant would launch soon in the country. The Vespa Notte debuted in India at the 2018 Auto Expo in Greater Noida. It is based on the Vespa LX 125.

Notte literally means ‘night’ in Italian, and as the name suggests, the scooter features a blacked-out theme. The Vespa Notte receives a matte black paint scheme, while the chrome bits and alloy wheels feature black detailing. According to the report, the Notte is positioned below the Vespa LX 125 and costs INR 4,000 less than the latter.

Powering the Vespa Notte is a 125 cc, single-cylinder, three-valve engine with air cooling that produces 9.5 bhp of maximum power at 7,500 rpm while developing a peak torque of 9.9 Nm at 6,000 rpm. The engine transfers control via a CVT. That said, the Vespa GTS Super Notte, for the international markets, is an entirely different version as compared to the India-spec model.
