Volkswagen Golf GTD Estate - 2015 Geneva Live
For the first time VW is introducing an estate version of the Golf GTD.
At the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, Volkswagen has taken the wraps off an estate version of the Golf GTD (Gran Turismo Diesel), which is a first for the German company.
The performance-focused Golf GTD Estate gets the GTD body kit that includes deep bumpers, honeycomb radiator grille, smoked rear lights and flared sills. The body sits on a sports tuned suspension with ride height lowered by 15 mm.
Inside, the Golf GTD Estate comes with sport seats with a tartan pattern, black headliner, a sport steering wheel with aluminum trim, stainless-steel pedals and foot rest, a golf ball shifter grip, and a new instrument cluster. White ambient lighting, automatic climate control, park assist, and touchscreen infotainment system are standard features on the GTD Estate.
At its heart is a 2.0-litre TDI engine that delivers 184 PS and 380 Nm of torque. Transmission options haven't been confirmed, although the Golf GTD hatchback comes with a 6-speed manual. The GTD estate is capable of doing 0-100 km/h in 7.9 seconds, and can return a fuel consumption figure of 22.72 km/l.
For Europe, the Golf GTD Estate is expected to go on sale in April, with first deliveries in June. Prices will be announced closer to its launch.
