Volkswagen Polo R-Line with 1.0 litre TSI launched in South Africa

The fifth-generation Volkswagen Polo has garnered sales volume of more than 155,000 units in South Africa.

Volkswagen has introduced a new 1.0 litre to the Polo line-up in South Africa. Called as the Volkswagen Polo R-Line, the car comes as a sporty hatchback without compromising on fuel efficiency.

Powering the Volkswagen Polo R-Line is a 999 cc three-cylinder petrol TSI mill coupled to a seven-speed DSG transmission as standard. The engine is capable of producing 108 bhp of maximum power and 200 Nm of torque peaking in the range of 2,000 to 3,500 rpm. The company even claims a fuel economy of 4.4 L/100 km thanks to BlueMotion technology and a start-stop system.

The Volkswagen Polo R-Line gets a revised front and rear bumpers and side sill extensions. The car also gets a rear spoiler, a faux diffuser with integrated chrome tailpipe, 17-inch Serron alloy wheels and an optional panoramic sunroof.

Interiors get a 5-inch Composition Colour touchscreen infotainment system with Apple Car Play. Also present are sports seats, and fatigue warning system as a safety measure.
