Successor to the S80 is the second product to feature the latest design.

From the same person who leaked the first images of the Volvo S90 scale model comes a detailed gallery of spyshots, revealing certain new details previously unseen.

The exterior of the Volvo S90 gets the new long vertical-slat grille flanked by LED headlamps with Thor hammer DRLs.

The uploader has snapped the interior of the scale model, which appears to draw influences from the Volvo Concept Estate. Following the XC90's clean, button-free approach, the Volvo S90 will have its functions integrated in the 9-inch Sensus infotainment display, sitting between two tall air vents.

Buttons for the audio system and few other features are arranged below the display. It also features a 3-spoke multifunction steering wheel, driver's display, Head-Up Display, and a speaker in the upper dashboard (likely part of the Bowers & Wilkins system).

The exterior of the Volvo S90 is influenced by Volvo’s latest design language penned by Thomas Ingenlath, featuring a long vertical-slat grille flanked by LED headlamps with Thor hammer DRLs, and a new bumper design with chrome accents. At the side, it has a muscular shoulder line, chrome bezel for the window lining, and a chrome bar in the lower portion.

Coming to the rear, it gets an angular pair of LED taillamps inspired by the Volvo Concept Coupe, bold Volvo lettering, and a pair of large exhaust tips.

The S90 will be the second product to ride on Volvo's new SPA (Scalable Product Architecture) platform. It will offer the 2.0 Drive-E four-cylinder engines available in power states between 190 hp to 400 hp. All engines are likely to be paired to an 8-speed automatic gearbox, while an AWD system could be optional in higher variants.

The Volvo S90 is expected to be revealed by the end of this year, before making a world debut at the 2016 Detroit Motor Show in January.
