Audi introduced the Q3 in a base petrol trim while BMW refreshed the X1 crossover. Mercedes is days away from launching the A Class hatchback, with previews already conducted for the prospective customers in most cities. BMW will launch the 1 Series in a few months time and finally, the Volvo V40 Cross Country is expected to go on sale anytime soon.

It seems that the Malaysians will also get the V40 Cross Country (and the V40 hatch that is not destined to India) about the same time as us.

The V40 Cross Country on test here was caught by Paultan.org's reader Mesh Naidu. The car was caught on the Federal Highway near Volvo's assembly plant in Shah Alam.

However, for Malaysia, the V40 Cross Country will be introduced as a CKD (Completely Knocked Down unit) whereas in India, it will arrive as a CBU (Completely Built Up unit) like all other Volvo cars sold here.

Volvo V40 Cross Country India
Volvo V40 Cross Country has already been spotted in dealerships in India which means that the launch is just around the corner.

Internationally, the V40 Cross Country is available in 4x4 but only in the petrol variants. Hence, Volvo India will launch the V40 Cross Country only in 4x2 variants as 99% of their sales comes from diesel cars.

A 1.6-liter petrol and a 2.0-liter diesel are the engine options lined up for the V40 Cross Country when it goes on sale here.
