Germany - VW Golf Sportsvan brochure available
The VW Golf Sportsvan was unveiled through a pre-production concept at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September this year. Following that, VW has commenced sales of the Sportsvan in Germany in December last year.
Four engine options are available on the new Sportsvan - two petrol engines and two diesel motors. The base petrol engine is a 1.2-liter TSI motor producing 85 PS of power and comes mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. The other petrol engine is a 1.4-liter TSI producing 150 PS and comes with a 6-speed manual transmission or an optional 7-speed DSG transmission.
The base diesel engine is a 1.6-liter TDI producing 110 PS (available with a 5-speed MT or 7-speed DSG) while the top-end model gets a 2.0-liter TDI producing 150 PS (available with a 6-speed MT or 6-speed DSG). While all models are front wheel drive, VW is likely to introduce an all wheel drive model in the future.
The Sportsvan is available with a choice of nine exterior paints, while the interiors are available in four different shades. The seat fabrics can be specced from ten available options, while seven alloy wheel designs round up the customization package. The Golf Sportsvan replaces the Golf Plus variant and prices start at EUR 19,625 (INR 16.6 lakhs) and extend up to EUR 27,600 (INR 23.42 lakhs).
