VW Polo ALLSTAR special edition spotted in India

Will go on sale by June 2016.

Volkswagen is planning a special edition of the VW Polo for India, reports Autocar India. The special edition is the VW Polo ALLSTAR, as seen in a spy shot published by the website.

Announced in December last year, the VW Polo ALLSTAR was showcased at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show in February. The special edition Polo has been introduced in the market to promote the 2016 UEFA European Championship football tournament that will run from June 10 to July 10 in France.

The VW Polo ALLSTAR will feature the 1.5L TDI diesel engine from the regular VW Polo.

The VW Polo ALLSTAR features 'ALLSTAR' stickers on the B-pillar and the fender, 'ALLSTAR' lettered sill plates, special alloy wheels, fog lamps and Climatronic automatic climate control system. The European version comes with the winter package which adds headlight washers, heated windshield washer nozzles and heated front seats - these will not be offered in India.

The ALLSTAR edition spotted in India has a TDI badge, suggesting that it will be driven by the standard VW Polo's 1.5-litre diesel engine, paired to a five-speed manual transmission or the 7-speed DSG.

The VW Polo ALLSTAR should be launched in India anytime before the tournament commences in June.
