VW Polo-based compact SUV concept teased ahead of Geneva debut – IAB Report
Production version's launch unlikely before 2018.
The rumoured VW T-Cross concept has appeared in first official pictures. The name isn’t confirmed, but as expected, VW is bringing a new crossover concept previewing a future VW Polo-based compact crossover.
The teaser image hints dual LED headlights, radiator grille with honeycomb-shaped openings, square LED daytime running lights which surround LED foglights, black body cladding running from the bumper through the sides possibly to the rear-end, and LED turn signals-integrated door mirrors. The concept's exterior is reminiscent of the VW T-Roc concept that was unveiled at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show.
The current, fifth generation VW Polo was introduced back in 2009 at the Geneva Motor Show and went on sale later the same year. The sixth-gen VW Polo is expected to be introduced in 2018. If the alleged VW T-Cross concept makes it to production, it will also be built upon the platform as the new Polo, which is likely to use the MQB layout.
