VW Polo Highline Plus - In 7 Live Images
Volkswagen has silently introduced a new range topping trim of the Polo called VW Polo Highline Plus. These images were shared with us by our reader Siddharth Shankar from Delhi. In July, we reported that the Highline Plus trim was to arrive at dealerships and it seems VW has initiated deliveries now.
The VW Polo Highline Plus trim gets minor exterior and interior updates. It gets new 16-inch Portago Alloy wheels borrowed from the GT Sport variant. The cabin gets an all-black colour scheme as opposed to the black-beige combo in existing trims. It gets semi-leatherette seat upholstery, which is brown with a check pattern. The top-spec Volkswagen Polo also gains a new head unit with reverse parking camera. For rear seat occupants, additions include a centre armrest and air conditioning vents. The rest of the equipment is the same as the Highline trim.
The Highline Plus trim is available at a premium of about INR 26,000 over the Highline trim. Currently, the VW Polo Highline trim retails for INR 701,900 and INR 855,400 for the petrol and diesel variants respectively (ex-showroom Delhi).
The Polo is powered by a 1.2 L MPI petrol and a 1.5 L TDI diesel. Both engines are available with only a 5-speed manual transmission. While the 1,198 cc petrol is capable of producing 75 PS and 110 Nm, the 1,498 cc diesel puts out 90 PS and 230 Nm.
According to latest reports, VW Group will take a call on the introduction of the MQB-based new generation VW Polo at a board meeting next month. Even if the project gets the green light, the new 2017 VW Polo will not arrive in India until 2019.
