India-made VW Polo Trophy Limited Edition launched in Malaysia - Report
Only 100 units up for grabs.
Bearing the signature livery of Volkswagen Motorsport, 100 units of the new VW Polo Trophy Limited Edition has been made in India and exported to Malaysia. Priced at RM 89,888 (INR 14 lakhs) ex-showroom, the rally-inspired Polo is put on show at the Setia City Convention Centre.
The launch of the VW Polo Trophy Edition marks the company's historic 1-2-3 win with the Volkswagen Polo R, in the WRC 2015.
Notable differences from the standard VW Polo hatchback include Volkswagen Motorsport decals on exterior, contrasting appliqué on outside rear view mirror caps, WRC-inspired rear spoiler, Ecotint window film, and Blaupunkt Philadelphia 835 infotainment system with 7-inch touchscreen head unit and navigation facility and connectivity features.
With no mechanical changes to the WRC-styled Polo Trophy, the sole naturally-aspirated four-cylinder 1.6-litre MPI gasoline engine, produces the same power output of 105 PS at 5,250 rpm and peak torque of 153 Nm at 3,800 rpm. There is no change in the Aisin Seiki-made 6-speed automatic transmission as well.
A similar update is not anticipated on other Volkswagen models by Volkswagen Group Malaysia (VGM), like the Vento.
