Check out the price (ex-showroom Delhi) comparison (old vs. new) in the table below:

Model Previous Price New Price
FZ-Fi INR 96,180 INR 96,680
FZS-Fi INR 98,180 INR 98,680
FZ-25 (Standard) INR 1,34,180 INR 1,34,680
FZ-25 (MotoGP Edition) INR 1,36,680 INR 1,36,680
Fazer 25 INR 1,44,180 INR 1,44,680

The price increase does not affect the MotoGP Edition of the Yamaha FZ-25. This marginal price increase should not affect the sales during the high demand festive season. However, the complete range will receive a bigger hike in the ex-showroom tags post the BS-VI upgrade. Yamaha has confirmed that its BS-VI range of motorcycles will start to roll out from November this year, and the updated models can carry a premium of up to 10%-15% over the BS-IV compliant versions. Maybe the company is increasing the prices marginally now so that it doesn't have to announce a steep hike at that time.

The specifications of the BS-VI compliant FZ series (FZ-Fi and FZS-Fi) have been leake. The updated models will pack relatively lower performance numbers than the BS-IV versions. The BS-VI compliant FZ-Fi and FZS-Fi will draw 9.1 kW or 12.4 PS of maximum power from its 149 cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled motor. In comparison, the current model is tuned to deliver 9.7 kW or 13.2 PS. The engine comes linked to a five-speed gearbox. The dimensions will remain unaltered.

The FZ series received a makeover in January this year. Thus, the BS-VI compliant models are not likely to look any different from the outgoing BS-IV version. However, there could be new graphics and paint schemes on the BS-VI models to distinguish them from the BS-IV versions.
