Yamaha FZS-FI Overview

Back in 2008, Yamaha introduced the FZ-16 which constantly captured the attention of the young folks. Years later, the old FZ-16 has evolved and gone on sale under the name the Yamaha FZS-FI. The third generation of the Yamaha FZ-16 is cherished for its competent and refined engines and easy-to-ride nature, making it a good bike for city commuting.

Yamaha FZS-FI Latest Updates

Lately, the FZS-FI was given some notable updates for 2021. The latest version of the bike is lighter than the previous iteration of the 2020 model. What’s more, the new Yamaha Motorcycle Connect X Bluetooth technology now is now available on the FZS-FI. The new technology provides some fascinating features like answer back, e-lock, locate my bike, and so on. The safety front is enhanced by the addition of the side-stand engine cutoff function.

Yamaha FZS-FI Specifications

Yamaha FZS-FI is powered by a 150cc single-cylinder air-cooled BSVI engine that generates Rs 13.2 BHP at 8000 rpm and a 13.6 Nm at 6000 rpm. This engine is mated to a 5-speed transmission.

It is confirmed by Yamaha that the recent version of the engine is optimized for better performance at the low end. The FZS-FI keeps the telescopic fork and mono-shock setting. There are a 282 mm disc brake and a 220 mm disc brake for the front and rear respectively. Upfront, the FZS-FI makes use of a 100/80-section tyre while the rear tyre is a 140/60-17 unit.

Apart from the added functions, the 2021 version continues to offer features like single-channel ABS, LED headlight, two-level single-piece saddle. It also comes with a negative LED instrument console that shows a fuel gauge, odometer, two trip metres, F trip and a clock to name a few.

In term of design, the FZS-FI is added with a few updates that make it look more muscular. The fuel tank for example is beefed-up and features faux chrome-finished air intakes on the side. The new LED headlight not only provides excellent visibility but also levels up the butch look of the bike.

Yamaha FZS-FI is available in three variants, STD, Darknight, and Vintage Edition. There are 5 colours for the customers to choose from, including Metallic Red, Matte Black, Dark Matte Blue and Cyan Blue, Dark Knight and Vintage Green.

Yamaha FZS-FI rivals against the likes of Honda X-Blade, Suzuki Gixxer, Bajaj Pulsar NS160 and TVS Apache RTR 160 4V.

Yamaha FZS-FI Price

The price of the Yamaha FZS-FI starts from Rs 1.08 lakh and the top-spec Dark Knight version costs Rs 1.12 lakh.
